IDS Lies to Tory Party – Time for him to GO?

Thank you Jayne for this blog. I would find it difficult to structure an article like this due to my own ill health, so I fully understand how hard it must have been due to your health decline. I wish you the very best.

I will be sharing your blog and the petition. I just fails me how this man is still Minister for DWP. I think he will go down in history, all for the very WRONG reasons, and we all have our own words we would like to say to the man who has led a campaign that has caused fear, worry, worsening health, and the loss of life, for us, the disabled, and unemployed people – all whom which are at the hands of the state through NO fault of their own.

Whilst I appreciate that disabled/sick can go through the assessments and be ‘awarded’ their ‘welfare’ – like me – it still doesn’t take away the FEAR of having to go through PIP and ESA assessements.

The fiasco of Universal credit alone should have seen him removed…..not to mention sanctions, deaths, and now yet more news….incorrect statistics which he should have been fully aware of.

Thanks Jayne

Regards Ange

Warning – The post below contains swearing

Just what the Fuck has Iain Duncan Smith on fellow members of the Conservative Party? Thanks to John Pring at Disability News Service, we know this excuse for a man in charge of the DWP has LIED AGAIN.  This time not only to us the people and the media, but also to his own Party!

This round of Lies is regarding the ‘success’ of the Disability Confident Campaign which, claims” the government is working with employers to remove barriers, increase understanding and ensure that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.” John, via freedom of information requests has revealed, contrary to IDS claims at last years Tory Party Conference that more than 1,000 employers” had ‘signed up’ to the campaign, the reality is fewer than 400 actually joined, and only 68, are currently “active partners”!! The article is…

It’s difficult to know anything certain about modern politics. As Adam Curtis points out in his “Oh-Dearism” documentary, there is an emerging “strategy of power that keeps any opposition constantly confused, a ceaseless shapeshifting that is unstoppable because it’s indefinable”. It’s diaphanous, a dark attic full of spider webs, and the intention of the political elite is to make sure you don’t understand.

Every now and again, though, a little light breaks through the murk, and lets us see what the machinating cluster of arachnids are up to.

It seems rather telling that the mainstream establishment is getting all shrill and scurrilous about Jeremy Corbyn. After the poll that said Corbyn would win the Labour leadership 6 points ahead of Andy Burnham, centrists, Blairites and Blairs fell over each other to slander the man himself, as unelectable, and then to scoff at his supporters. St. Tony of Baghdad, lobbyist to…

Here we go again!

Agreed – pieces of shit! – these letters are randomly sent out to people in the Support Group of ESA. The wording of these letters make you think you have to attend – these letters are cruel and harassing. I’veheard of casets where they sent these letters out to people dying in hospital – worse still, already dead. It’s quite clear enough when you get ‘awarded’ the support group ( which usually does have reviews ) that you can ask for work related activity or volunteer – these letters are unnecessary and harassing. They should be STOPPED.

Tracy and Nick Gaskin

Tracy and Nick Gaskin

Officials have apologised after a man who cannot walk, talk or feed himself was told he had to attend a Job Centre interview to discuss his benefit payments as well as “training to up date his skills.”

Nick Gaskin, 46, from Quorn, was diagnosed with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) 16 years ago.

He can no longer do anything for himself and needs round the clock care.

He and his wife Tracy were astonished to receive a letter from the Loughborough Job Centre with an appointment for July 22.

The letter states: “You and your personal advisor will discuss the possibility of going into paid work, training for work, or looking for work in the future.”

His wife, Tracy, called the centre to explain the situation but was told he still had to attend.

Defend Disabled People’s Right To Independent Living

The ILF is a lifeline to severely disabled people. It would actually cost Social Care MORE by scrapping this very important fund.
We have spent decades moving disabled people out of institutions – and rightly so – and the TORY Party want to undo all that GOOD work. Don’t severely disabled people deserve lives? Deserve the chance to have jobs? And to ‘fit in’ to society?

As a wheelchair user myself, and before illness, having cared for my own mum, whom has multiple sclerosis, I/we feel unimportant to the TORY Party, who have made it clear that they do not have empathy nor understanding when it comes to disability.

The ILF is a life saver for some. WHY are they taking away something that IS cost effective? It just does not make sense.

We need to fight this all the way!

Social Housing Chief thinks 300,000 more homeless children per year an irrelevance!

This is an excellent article, that I urge everyone to read.

The TORY cuts – ‘benefit cap’ – which the word ‘benefit cap’ in itself is put out there to vilify anyone ‘claiming’ – it might as well say ‘benefit scrounger’ – these words are carefully planned to keep the public fighting with themselves, instead of looking at the REAL problem – Austerity!

So, as the cuts come into force many families will face homelessness. My friends have already been victim of these vile insensitive cuts. They were waiting 6 years to be put into affordable social accommodation… a ‘reward’ for waiting so long? They got evicted……who cares? Well I bloody well care! Not because they are friends ( though the empathy is deep 💞 ) – no! Because I CAN see further than the end of my nose! I CAN see what these cuts are going to do to people – innocent people living in a HOME and trying to survive the best way they can in whatever circumstances are thrown at them. Low paid workers, single parents, Welfare claimants..for whatever reason ( and lest we not judge, no man ( or woman ) has walked in another mans shoes. These are the ones who are going to be largely effected – the most vulnerable of our society.

The TORY Nasty Party has only just begun to weird it’s ugly axe. If you’re not afraid – if YOU think you are immune – think again. We are all just a few pay packets away from homelessness….

The following is from my friend,Charlotte Ryan, who was expected to attend work interviews or lose her benefits just weeks before she died. This was written on December 12, 2014:

I have terminal cancer, my prognosis is 0-3 years and I was diagnosed in March 2014 with my brain stem glioma. In April 2014 I was placed in the support group* for 3 years and I have gone from being able-bodied to hopelessly disabled. I have many neurological deficits including diploplia, dyspraxia, dysarthria and dysphagia. To save you googling, this means that I have double vision and am going blind, I’m very clumsy and most days I drop everything I pick up, my speech is failing and one day I won’t be able to communicate verbally at all and I have such difficulty swallowing that I now have a feeding tube.

Nabi Saleh: Videos, reports & photos (17th – 31 January 2015)

I look at my children in the relative safety of my Country, and I think to myself – what kind of Army uses such brutality against unarmed men, women and children.

These communities are restricted and repressed – if the children throw rocks, you have to ask yourselves WHY?? Facing anger WITH anger – using force with force is not the answer. I don’t have the answers….I wish I did! Though I think someone as experienced as Miko Peled might?
I do think that these soldiers should be nowhere near to these people – leave them alone! Stop the aggression and start to realise that everyone on this planet is EQUAL. It’s way time Israelis leader was forced out and a new leader with a progressive and inclusive vision for all #Palestinians – #Israel is a part of #Palestine – NOT the other way round and #land needs discussing. #Prisoners need releasing and #Walls need to come tumbling down! For the sake of the #Children 💞

Activists report IOF invade village with four jeeps and at least 18 soldiers before the weekly demonstration began. The fired large amounts of teargas at unarmed protesters. In particular the valley was filled with teargas making it difficult for people to breath. Residents reported that the teargas was particularly strong, with many suffocated by the gas due to the large quantities and strong winds. IOF continue to invade village and harass village for several hours after the conclusion of the demonstration.
